What a sweet and inspiring story! I really can’t praise Ms. Hale enough for introducing me to such real and relatable characters who don’t even come across as characters but rather than real people with their doubts, shortcomings, desires and hopes. I’ll admit, I don’t like reading about perfect, flawless characters; I like them true to life, a little broken and incredibly strong, so kudos to the author for both Hope and Flynn.
Hope was a magnificent heroine. She’s a self-made young woman who came from extreme poverty and created a life for herself and her mother that she always desired. However, the bullying dating back to high school and its effects stayed with her and was ruining her personal life because deep inside she was the same wounded, bullied girl.
Flynn was also a great character! I loved how sweet and patient he was with Hope and how he did everything to help her overcome her insecurities. This story was great on so many levels, not only because of the romance and engaging plot, but also because it deals with important social issues. Five huge stars from me. What a brilliantly written story, I really love the way he cares, he cares about everything and everyone.
Emily is just the type of sassy type of lead female that I love to read about.
Ms Hale’s character creation is brilliant.
The storyline was different from what I’ve read before. There was so much action that I couldn’t turn the pages quick enough.

It’s a perfect holiday romance, with enough steam to keep you warm at night when you read it. The characters are great, and I loved the chemistry between Audra and Charlie. Beth Hale more than exceeded my expectations. She has set the bar higher for every book I read in this genre.
I highly recommend Bourbon Street Heat if you’re looking for a quick, cheap thrill to put you in the mood to tango!
